Brand New Avengers Trailer - View on Film

Oh boy....if you can't tell, I'm excited about the Avengers movie coming May 4th.  As a young one, it was by FAR my favorite comic book....and if I could have handpicked a writer/director for this it would have been Joss Whedon....and look at my luck.  Can't wait....and here's the new trailer that just broke this morning!

New on DVD 2/28- View on Film

Hugo-

Good Day!  My favorite film from 2011 comes out out DVD/Blu Ray today.  First off, this was the most mis-marketed film of last year.  It's about a kid, but its not a kids film.  It is really in a genre all its own.  I thought it was a unique experience, and I really enjoyed it.  Below is my original review.

Puss in Boots-

Another good one, and this one is for kids and adults.  I was SO bored with the Shrek series, so I was not looking forward to this one...but it is very good, and mucho fun!  Below is m original review.

Big fan of the first two American Pie films.  What set those apart, is the characters weren't all just one note, save for Stiffler.  And the relationship between Jim and his Dad was sweet and real.  Here's a look at more or less, American Pie 4, coming in April.

Tower Heist-

Since Tower Heist stars Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy....I have to think they expected more of a splash last holiday with this film.  It did OK, but it was by no means a blockbuster.  Rotten Tomatoes.com gives it a fresh 68%.

Amazing Spider Man 2012 Trailer - View on Film

Here's really the first long look at our new Spider Man.  I have guarded optimism on this venture.  Director Marc Webb I think was an inspired choice for this reboot, and Andrew Garfield looks good as Peter.  And Emma Stone is just plain great in everything she's in.  Here's the first look....it's in theaters 7/3/12.

Bit of a weak release schedule, especially considering the big release comes out Saturday February 11th.

Twilight- Breaking Dawn Part 1
(Special Note: Out Sat. 2/11)

As with big video releases, the Twilight folks will make you wait until Saturday.  I enjoyed the first in this series, but found Eclipse/New Moon to be unbearable.  I found this one to be interesting, and much more palatable.  Fans will love it....non-fans can endure it.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas-

Crude, loud, and very funny threequel of the Stoner Series.  I enjoyed it, but watching a Holiday movie in February seems odd.  Save it until December if you want, but it's worth a watch for raunchy film fans!

The Descendants - View on Film

Good Friday everyone!  The Descendants finally opened up in my area, so I'm pleased to be reviewing the Oscar nominated movie from Alexander Payne.  Clooney continues to be a marvel.  It's lucky a star of his magnitude decides to bring films to light, that without his wattage attached would mostly likely never be made, let along seen.  Have a great Super Weekend!  Cheers!
